LOST OPPORTUNITY

You made mistakes in the past
And today you are downcast
Because the results are unfavorable
So you cease to feel honorable.
You think you could have done better,
You blame the stars and the weather,
That were you given another chance
You could have taken a different stance.
But I tell you, your feeling is not right
Though it may seem so in your sight.
If you were given the same opportunity
You would do the same with impunity.
Therefore stop bemoaning your fate.
I tell you, you are actually doing great.
For as long as there is breathe in you.
There is nothing too hard to do.
That desired effect you did not obtain
May have been something you could not contain.
So stir up a new cheering desire
For the things you now require.
Get to action and eschew depression
And stop shopping for people's compassion.
When your new desire comes to reality
It will efface your lost opportunity.
